Grade 9 Quebec Trip
THE GRADE 9 EDUCATIONAL TOUR is a long-standing École Holy Cross tradition. During the first week of October, Grade 9 students and supervising teachers travel to Montréal, Ottawa, and Québec City. This provides the students a chance to practice their French in an authentic context, make curricular connections and experience the culture and history of eastern Canada. Some of the highlights include visits to the Supreme Court of Canada, the Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Museum of History, the Royal Mint of Ottawa, Notre Dame Basilica of Montréal, the Musée Pointe à Callière, the residences of the Governor General in Ottawa and Quebec, the Plains of Abraham, Sainte-Anne de Beaupré Basilica, Montmorency Falls and a celebration of Mass at St. Joseph’s Oratory.
Grade 7 Birch Bay
THE GRADE 7 BIRCH BAY TRIP is an annual event that takes place during the first week of school in September. Students participate in rock climbing, archery, horseback riding and zipline activities. They explored the low ropes course and organized a game of soccer. As École Holy Cross welcomes students from many feeder elementary schools, this is a great opportunity for our new and returning Grade 7 students to get to know each other outside the classroom setting and start new friendships.
Black History Month
Every February, Holy Cross participates in Black History Month to honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities.
